Jakiś czas temu zaproponowano mi utkanie chusty do noszenia dziecka.

Brak dostępu w Polsce do PRAWDZIWEJ, posiadającej oznaczenie grubości przędzy tkackiej, utrudnia sprawę (jeśli ktoś chce mnie uszczęśliwić, może to łatwo zrobić kupując mi McMorran Yarn Balance ;-) ).

    1. Thank you :-). The creation of such a colors blend enabled me software program ArahWeave, which is amazing, though not easy to use.

    3. I will try to answer, but my knowledge of English may not be enough.
I was looking for a program that would allow the design of striped fabric and make it possible to easily and quickly make changes in the system of belts and colors. ArahWeave proved to be excellent. Thank you for sharing the demo version.
ArahWeave seems to be very complicated, but I understand that this is not a computer program dedicated to weaving as a hobby. So far I have used few other computer programs. Generally, they are all alike. Knowledge of one of them makes it easy intuitive use of others. ArahWeave is different and the service I'm learning all the time by trial and error. I should note that your tutorials are helpful and gave me a starting point for further experiments.
I do not think my comments were helpful. I have no objections to the program, because once I understand how a particular feature works, design goes smoothly. But first I need to understand :-). Besides, I am a big fan of ArahWeave.
Paradoxically, it is easier for me to use the English language than the Polish version of the program. One more thing, all the functions that I used so far (of course, except for saving) work perfectly, but I can not save the file as a WIF. I do not know why.
Out of curiosity: how much is the full version of the program? I did not find this information.

    4. One more thing I'm curious: how did you find my comment?! It is exciting for me that author of ArahWeave was on my blog :-D

    5. Thank you for your explanation.
The other programs you know were mostly written by and for hand-weavers.
ArahWeave is an industrial program. It has many functions, which a hand-weaver does not need, so it can be lacking the perceived simplicity. It depends on your background; industrial fabric designers find ArahWeave easy and intuitive, since it cleanly models their way of work.
We are planning to make a "user profile" function in "Mode" menu, where you could choose your status from beginner to expert, and beginner mode would hide the advanced functions which you may find distracting.
One other reason for confusion is that ArahWeave uses many pop-up windows for different fabric components/properties (warp/weft pattern, weave, yarn colors, yarn properties, fabric density) and presents the final fabric simulation in the main window. Each component (weave, warp/weft pattern, denting) can have its own repeat. So fabric display will be a result of repeat of weave and warp pattern, combined with total number of warp ends. In other programs, you need to copy weave and/or pattern over to the size of your fabric display area. While in ArahWeave you can zoom out the fabric and see it from one selvedge to the other, up to 65000 threads.

As for the Polish translation, we did it for our customer in Siemień
      http://www.zptsiemien.pl/
If you find any errors in translations, please send them to us and we will fix them. You can also edit the translation file in arahne/common/pol.txt and see the changes as you open the program again.
Regarding WIF format - ArahWeave does read WIF files, and can also save the WIF files, but not in demo version. In demo version, you can only save fabric simulations, if you choose JPEG or PNG as your printer type.
We used to have WIF enabled in the demo version about seven years ago, but it has both hurt our sales, and our image. Less demanding users did not buy anything, since the WIF version was good enough. More demanding users did not get good impression of the program, since they lost the more advanced fabric properties (yarn count, multicolor yarns, PANTONE colors, variable density, reed denting, ...), and they thought that the program works that way.
As for the price of the program, please send us an inquiry from the web site http://www.arahne.si/ and we will reply you.
I found your blog by googling, we need to know what our users think of us, and we like feedback.

    6. Thank you very much for answer and explanations. I learned a few new things.
I use ArahWeave a few weeks and I know what to do to get the desired effect, but I know that it is just a small part of capabilities. I believe that with time I will know other functions and learn to use them efficiently. Once again - thank you for that amazing software.

    7. Hello again,
As a follow to requests for simpler software, we have introduced "Simplified" mode in ArahWeave. If you download the latest version ArahWeave 7.0p, then the demo version will default to Simplified mode. It will hide the advanced functions which are maybe more useful to designers in factories.
If you wish those functions, you can enable them by switching the mode to "Normal". We explain it here:
      http://www.arahne.si/home/news/314-arahne-has-a-problem.html
And the demo version can be downloaded here:
